TransformationsappliedtoGNSSpositions

ForRTKsurveying,coordinatetransformationsarerequiredsothatonesetofcoordinates(GNSSpositions)

canberepresentedintermsofanother(gridpositions),andviceversa.

Thissectionprovidesanoverviewofthemanagementandapplicationofcoordinatetransformationsusing

theTrimbleAccesssoftware.Itdescribeshowtoapplyadatumtransformationandmapprojection,and

horizontalandverticaladjustments.

WiththeTrimbleAccesssoftware,thesitecalibrationprocessdefinestransformationparametersderived

fromasetofpoints.Thissetofpointsiscoordinatedintermsoftwosystems:

lWGS-84Latitude,Longitude,Height(LLH)geodeticcoordinates

lAlocalsystemwithproject-specificNorthing,Easting,Elevation(NEE)gridcoordinates

WhenGNSSsignalsareprocessedbyareceiver,theyyieldEarth-Centered-Earth-Fixed(X,Y,Z)coordinates,

whichmustthenbetransformedtomoremeaningfulgeodeticcoordinates(,,).

Here,representsthegeodeticlatitude,isthelongitude,andistheperpendicularheightabovethe

WGS-84ellipsoid.
