WhatisThanksgiving？ThanksgivingDayiscreatedbytheAmericanpeople,whichmeanstothankGodforthegoodharvest.IntheUnitedStates,since1941,ThanksgivingisonthefourthThursdayinNovembereachyear,andwilltakeatwo-dayofffromthisday.
ThanksgivingDayHistoryIntheearlyseventeenthCentury,thepilgrimsinBritainwerepersecuted.InSeptember1620,102pilgrimsboardedtheMayflowersailingvesselandarrivedinPlymouthportoftheUnitedStatesinDecember26th,readytostartanewlife.However,theseimmigrantsdidnotadapttothelocalenvironmentatall.Afterthefirstwinterofthefirstyear,only50survived.
ThanksgivingDayHistoryInthespringofsecondyear,thelocalIndiansgavethemalotofnecessitiesandtaughtthemhowtoworkonthisland.Thisyeartheimmigrantsreceivedfallharvest,attheendofNovember,immigrantsareinvitedtoshareIndiancorn,pumpkin,foodandTurkey,thankthemfortheirhelp,thankGodforagoodharvest.Sincethen,ThanksgivinghasbecomeafixedfestivalintheUnitedStates.
ThecelebrationofThanksgivingOnThanksgivingDay,thewholenationisverybusy.ChristiansgotochurchtoprayforThanksgiving.Eachyearfamilymemberswillreturnfromalloverthecountry,onefamilyreunion,totastetheturkeyastheThanksgivingdelicacy.
