ThepurposeofthisUIistodisytheinformationheredbytheRCSToolinaneye-

appealing,yetsimple,manner.Theresultingdisyhastobeintuitiveandfunctional,as

wellasconfigurabletoareasonabledegree.

TheUIwillbesplitinto3panes(Left,Right,andTop):

LeftPane

•Sincethedatacomesfromadatabasetable,themaindisyareawillbeaList

View,havingapredeterminedsetofdatafields(columns)matchingthoseinthe

database.(Anenhancementwouldbetomakethedisyedfieldsconfigurable

toauser’spreference.)

•Thislistwillbeabletobesortedbyclickingonthecolumnforthesortcriteria.

•Theusercanselectalineofdata,andviewitsdetailsintheRightPane.

RightPane

•EachloggedeventdisyedintheLeftPanewillhaveitsdetailsdisyedin

anHTMLViewintheRightPane,consistingofotherdatainthedatabase.

•Differenticons/graphicswillbedisyedaccordingtothedifferenttypesof

possibleeventsbeingdescribed.

•Therewillalsobeadescriptionofpossiblesolutions/recommendationsforany

detectedsecurityviolations.

•Asanadvancedfeature,therewillbeabuttonoralinktoanotherwebpageto

connecttoahostonthenetworkthatisvulnerable.

TopPane

•Theusercanfilterwhichtypesofdatatobedisyedthroughaseriesof

checkboxes(e.g.SecuredHosts,Violations,InUse)anddrop-downlistboxes(e.g.

ConnectionType).

•TherewillbeaRefreshbuttontoredisythedataoncetheoptionshavebeen

modified.

•Thedatawillbedisye
