一、过去进行时的构成：
主语+was/were+doing+其它.
变否定—主语+was/werenot+doing+其它
变一般疑问句—Was/Were+主语+doing+其它？
“句式变换依然在be上做文章”
e.g.Weinclass.(study)
否定:Weinclass.
—般疑问句：inclass?
二、过去进行时的用法：
.过去某一时刻正在进行或发生的动作。
e.g.①Theyfootballatfouryesterdayafternoon.(play)②MymotherwhenIgothome.(cook)
.过去某阶段持续进行的动作e.g.Whatwereyoudoingduringtheholiday?Hewastakingavacationthistimelastyear.
三、与过去进行时连用的时间状语
常与时间状语then,atthattime,thislimeyesterday,attenyesterday等连用，或用另一动作来表示过去的时间。
e.g.①1waswashingmyclothesthistimeyesterday.
②ZhangHanwasreadinganewspaperwhenIcamein.
四、由when或while引导的时间状语从句，主从句中过去进行时的运用。
.主从句中发生的动作相对较前，则该动作用过去进行时。
e.g.IwascookingwhenJennycamein.WhenIwascookingJennycamein.
.在主从复合句中，主从句动作同时进行时，都要用进行时，从句常用while引导。e.g.JennywaswatchingTVwhileIwascooking.
