AreportinPeoplesDailyonNovember21,2025,announcedthelaunchofthenationalmedicalimagesharingsystem.Thissystem,termedtheNationalMedicalInsuranceImagingCloud,becameoperationalonNovember20th.ItisdesignedtoallowauthorizedhospitalstosharepatientmedicalimageslikeCTscansandX-raysacrossthecountry,addressingasignificantbarriertoaccessinghealthcare.

Theplatformestablishesacentralized,securedigitalnetworkformedicalimages.Whenapatientundergoes(接受)ascanataconnectedhospital,theimagesareuploadedandstoredwithauniqueidentifier.Ifthatpatientlatervisitsanotherparticipatinghospital,doctorscaninstantlyaccesstheseoriginal,high-qualityimageswiththepatientsconsent.Thisinnovationeliminates(消除)theneedforpatientstocarryphysicalfilmcopiesandavoidsduplicate(重复的),costlyscans.

Thenetworkcurrentlyincludesmedicalinstitutionsin24provinces,withapproximately170millionimagerecordsalreadycataloged.Pilotconnectionsarenowactivebetweenseveralregions.Forinstance,hospitalsinBeijingcanaccessimagesfromFujian,whilemedicalfacilitiesinShanghaicanretrieverecordsfromZhejiang.

Thisinitiativeofferssubstantial(重大的)benefitsbysavingpatientstimeandmoney,reducingradiationexposure(辐射接触)fromrepeatedscans,andprovidingdoctorswithmorecompletepatienthistoryforaccuratediagnosis.Thesystememploysstrictsecurityprotocolstoprotectpatientprivacy.AccordingtotheNationalHealthcareSecurityAdministration,thegoalistointegrate(使纳入)mostdesignatedmedicalinstitutionsintothisnationalnetworkbytheendof2027,makinghealthcaremoreefficientandaccessibleacrossChina.
