评分通用指南

•Allcandidatesmustreceivethesametreatment.Examinersmustmarkthe

firstcandidateinexactlythesamewayastheymarkthelast.

•Markschemesshouldbeappliedpositively.Candidatesmustberewardedfor

whattheyhaveshowntheycandoratherthanpenalisedforomissions.

•Examinersshouldmarkaccordingtothemarkschemenotaccordingtotheir

perceptionofwherethegradeboundariesmaylie.

•Thereisnoceilingonachievement.Allmarksonthemarkschemeshouldbe

usedappropriately.

•Allthemarksonthemarkschemearedesignedtobeawarded.Examiners

shouldalwaysawardfullmarksifdeserved,i.e.iftheanswermatchesthe

markscheme.Examinersshouldalsobepreparedtoawardzeromarksifthe

candidate’sresponseisnotworthyofcreditaccordingtothemarkscheme.

•Wheresomejudgementisrequired,markschemeswillprovidetheprincip

bywhichmarkswillbeawardedandexemplificationmaybelimited.
