Thebrainisdividedintoseveralmajorregions,eachwithitsownspecificfunctions.Thecerebrum,whichisthelargestpartofthebrain,isresponsibleforhigher-levelfunctionssuchasthought,memory,andconsciousness.Thecerebellum,locatedbelowthecerebrum,coordinatesmovementandbalance.Thebrainstem,whichconnectsthebraintothespinalcord,controlsbasiclifefunctionssuchasbreathingandheartrate.
