Aspartoftheirbroaderdigitaltransformationefforts,telecomoperatorsareincreasinglymovingworkloadsandinvestingincloudinfrastructuretosupporttheirinternalapplications.Byadoptingcloudtechnologies,operatorsaimtoenhancetheiroperationalefficiency,scalability,andflexibility,enablingthemtorespondmoreeffectivelytomarketdemandsandtechnologicaladvancements.Althoughtherehasbeenashifttopubliccloud,privatecloudenvironmentsremainessentialareasofinvestmentastheyaretheidealenvironmentforanyapplicationsthatrequirehighsecurityandcompliance.

Wehavebenchmarkednineleadingoperatorswhoareallatvaryinglevelsofmaturitywiththeirinternalcloudplatformandroadmap(SeeFigure1).Telcos’internalcloudsspanfromneglected,manualenvironmentstohighlyautomatedplatformswheretheyhavedevelopedafullfutureroadmaptoachievetrueoperationalexcellence.
