WhatisIEAPVPSTCP?

TheInternationalEnergyAgency(IEA),foundedin1974,isanautonomousbodywithintheframeworkoftheOrganization

forEconomicCooperationandDevelopment(OECD).TheTechnologyCollaborationProgramme(TCP)wascreatedwith

abeliefthatthefutureofenergysecurityandsustainabilitystartswithglobalcollaboration.Theprogrammeismadeupof

6.000expertsacrossgovernment,academia,andindustrydedicatedtoadvancingcommonresearchandtheapplication

ofspecificenergytechnologies.

TheIEAPhotovoltaicPowerSystemsProgramme(IEAPVPS)isoneoftheTCP’swithintheIEAandwasestablishedin

1993.Themissionoftheprogrammeisto“enhancetheinternationalcollaborativeeffortswhichfacilitatetheroleof

photovoltaicsolarenergyasacornerstoneinthetransitiontosustainableenergysystems.”Inordertoachievethis,the

Programme’sparticipantshaveundertakenavarietyofjointresearchprojectsinPVpowersystemsapplications.The

overallprogrammeisheadedbyanExecutiveCommittee,comprisedofonedelegatefromeachcountryororganisation

member,whichdesignatesdistinct‘Tasks,’thatmayberesearchprojectsoractivityareas.
