韩国选定E‑X竞标者

本月，（韩国）部（MoD）选定了两个最终竞争者，以启动其价值14亿的

E‑X空中和控制（AEWC）飞机项目。最终竞争者为波音公司（圣路易斯，密苏

里州）和以色列公司的埃尔塔系统（IAI/Elta）（特拉维夫，以色列）。

consortium,optednottoenterthecompetition.BothandIAI/Eltapresented

theirnsinJune,withproposingamodified737aircraftandIAI/Eltaa

modifiedGulfstream550asthetformsfortheirproposals.Afinalselectionofoneof

theproposalsisexpectedbeforetheendofthisyear.

TheE-XprogramcallsfortwoAEWCaircrafttobefieldedby2009,withtwomoreto

follow.TheaircraftwillgivetheRlicofKoreaAirForce(ROKAF)asignificantboost

inits

capabilitiestodetect,localize,track,andinterceptmultiplelow-flyingaircraftand

missi.Systemrequirementsincludethecapabilitytoflyataltitudesinexcessof
