Abstract:Inordertosolvethenegativesequenceproblemofelectrifiedrailroadandreducethepowerconsumptionoftractionnetworkꎬa

newtypeofrailwaypowerconditioner(RPC)withthree ̄levelhybridenergystorageandthecorrespondingcontrolstrategyareproposed.

ThenewRPCconsistsofaback ̄to ̄back27 ̄levelconverterequivalenttoavoltagesourceandasingle ̄phasethree ̄levelconverter

equivalenttoacurrentsourceconnectedinseries.Athree ̄levelhybridenergystoragesystemisconnectedtotheDCsideoftheRPCꎬ

andthesystemiscategorizedintofouroperationmodesaccordingtothedirectionofpowerflow.Bycombiningthenegativesequence

compensationprincipleandtheoperationprincipleꎬanimprovedphase ̄shiftconstructionmethodisusedtocombinetheactivecompo ̄

nentoftheloadcurrentwiththehybridenergystoragecurrentcomponenttoobtainthecompensationcurrentreferencesignal.Bytrack ̄

ingthereferencesignalthroughthecurrentsourceꎬnegativesequencecompensationꎬpeaksharingandvalleytillingꎬandregenerative

brakingenergyrecyclingcanberealizedinthetractionnetwork.Simulationexperimentsareconductedunderdifferentoperationmodes

toverifythefeasibilityandeffectivenessoftheproposedstructureandcontrolstrategy.
