policymaking.Thechallengeisexacerbatedbyaseculardeclineinresponseratestolaborforcesurveys(LFS)
observedinnumerouscountries,whichisalsocapturedpartiallyinlabormarketdataissuesflaggedinthe
IMF’sDataAdequacyAssessments.ThispaperdocumentstheevolutionofLFSresponseratesinseveral
countriesandexploresfactorsaffectingit.BycreatinganewdatasetofLFScharacteristicsfor39mostly
advancedeconomies,wefindthatthosewithvoluntarysurveyparticipat
