As an integrated cross-disciplinary, cross-cultural communication study is important in most states. And cross-cultural communicative competence has been necessary in modern transnational commerce or communication. There are two ways of interpersonal communication: verbal behavior and non-verbal behavior, both of which are organic unity. Non-verbal behavior is the role of repetition, supplement and replacement to verbal behavior, and it regulates or negates the truth of things etc. It can also independently transmit messages. People can judge the capacity, status, occupation, level of education, nationality and the intention to speak by non-verbal behavior. But with different cultures, there is a large gap when people communicate by non-verbal behaviors. Any communicative activity, no matter verbal behavior or non-verbal behavior, is in close contact with time and space. It is necessary to know the use of time and space in intercultural communication. So this paper intends to firstly discuss the different use of time from psychological and cultural aspect; and secondly discuss the different use of space orientations from proximity and territoriality.II. The Use of Time in Intercultural Communication?Time orientation is a non-verbal communicational manner, which is gradually produced during the process of understanding and creating the objective world. It can express ideas, transmit feelings, and exchange information, and it has unique communicative function. Owing to the fact that people of different cultures live in different geography, history, and have different social environment and ways of thinking, their time orientation and manners of arranging and using time are different.
