Reviews and Prospect on China Intelligent Transport System
in Past Ten Years

Abstract The thirteen conference of --Transport 7 + 1 Forum. . focuses on the development of Intelligent Trans-
port System ( ITS) in China during the past ten years . The article reviews the progress of ITS since its f irst intro-
duction, and summarizes the achievem ents of ITS in past ten years and it s role on Chinese transportation practices .
It also introduces the techniques of ITS related, the experiences and the lessons as w ell. A series of key issues
h ave been discussed in the article su ch as the eff ectiveness of government and prof essionals in ITS industry . A fu-
ture development of ITS in China h as also been explored in the final part of the paper.
