This paper ami s at analyzing two English business letters as exam ples by using the m ethods of stylistics, and goes on analyzing the two in term s of the graphological, lex ica,l syntactic and textual features. In general, the use of the four stylistic features helps to w rite an English bus iness letter form ally, concisely and courteously. But there is no absolute standard for English business letter w riting, because it depends on the actual pu rpose of language use.
