One example of a well-studied synapse is the neuromuscular junction (NMJ), a peripheral synapse that uses acetylcholine (ACh) as a neurotransmitter, also,the accumulation of acetylcholine receptors (AChRs) in a narrow, central region of muscle fibers, in apposition to nerve terminals.
