First aid training in some countries In Australia, most first aid certificates （合格证书） are issued at one of 3 levels: ● Level 1 is a 1-day course covering primarily life-threatening emergencies: bleeding, chocking and other life-threatening medical emergencies. ● Level 2 is a 2-day course that covers all the aspects of training in Level 1, as well as specialized training in treatment of burns, bites, stings, electric shocks and poisonings. It must be taken every 3 years. ● Level 3 is a 4-day course covering advanced first aid. It is suitable for workplace first aiders and those who manage first aid facilities. In the United Kingdom, there are two main types of first aid courses offered. An 揈mergency Aid for Appointed Persons?course typically lasts one day, covering the basics, and is usually not formally assessed (评估). A “First Aid at Work” course is a four-day course that covers the full range of first aid, and is formally assessed. Certificates for the “First Aid at Work” course are issued by the training organization and are valid （有效的） for a period of three years. In China, the Red Cross associations of both Beijing and Hong Kong have jointly launched a special class for first aid professional training for the 2008 Olympics. A total of 180,000 people are expected to hold first aid certificates before the games.
