Abstract T he substrate c logging is the prmi ary lmi iting factor in sub surface constru cted w etland s process
ing effic iency and the service life. A serious sub strate c logg ing appeared in F ubao constru cted w et land located in
D ianch i Lake shore. In the present study, factors in flu encing sub strate c logg ing w ere discu ssed by analyz ing the
design problem s o f stru cture of beds, size o f sub strates, influ ent d istribut ion and so on. A new techno log ical
rou te pretreatm entsub surface w et land ( verticalflow ) ad ju stm ent tanksub surface w etland ( horizontalf low )
