Abstract
This thesis studies contemporary book binding design, focusing
on various ecological problems arising therefrom and the links prone
to causing ecological problems in book design and proposing possible
solutions. It takes the binding design of the full-length novel Archway as
an example to further explore and analyze in this aspect. By emphasizing
that environment and resource protection must be paid attention to in
binding design and sticking to the principle of sustainable development,
a practical and effective solution will be proposed, and the concept of
green and sustainably developed book binding design will be advocated, so
as to promote Chinese book binding design to develop towards a healthier
direction.
This thesis tries to provide guiding significance for book designers to
further consider what perfect, harmonious, green and ecological book binding
art means according to different types of books as well as how to provide
the society with natural and environment-friendly cultural products.
