Methods Sixty inpatients w ith internet addiction were randomized into an observation group ( n= 30) and a control group ( n= 30) . he inpatients in the observed group received the Neikan cognitive therapy, such as self cogni t ion psychological therapy, interpersonal psychological therapy, and routine drugs therapy and mental nursing for 4 w eeks, while the inpatients in the control only received routine drugs therapy and mental nursing. All the inpatients were assessed w ith Symptom Checklist90 ( SCL90) , Affective Balance Scale ( ABS) , Perceived Social Support Scale ( PSSS) and Acceptance of Others Scale ( AOS) before and after therapy.Results here w ere significant differences in t he scores of SCL90, ABS, PSSS and AOS ( P 0.05 for all) betw een t he tw o groups after the intervent ion. Conclusion Neikan cognitive therapy can improve netw ork addicts ne gative affect ion, raise their ability of perceived social support and acceptance of others. Key words: in
