Module2, Book6 Fantasy Literature Period 4 Writing
Teaching Objectives:
·Skill dimension:
① Learn to draft an extract for a fantasy story.
② Learn to give a specific description by using descriptive verbs.
③ Learn to polish the language by applying different grammatical structures, such as the –ing form of the verb.
·Knowledge dimension:
① Review the –ing form of the verb usage.
② Review the descriptive verbs and expressions.
·Moral dimension:
① Stimulate students’ imagination and creativity.
② Arouse some important realization or reflections about life and the world.
Teaching Approaches:
·Heuristic teaching approach:
The teacher acts as a guide, an organizer and demonstrator and actively inspire and encourage students to discover problems, solve problems and learn things for themselves.
?The process genre approach:
First analyze the genre and typical features of the reading passage, and then apply the writing skill into reading. The purpose of the approach is to by integrating writing into reading, students can achieve multilevel understanding of the reading and found a sound basis for writing during the process.

② how to utilize the specific descriptive verbs.
