A bstrac t: In th is paper, the technological situation and research trend of algae b iod iesel at hom e and abroad are
in troduced. It can be predicted that the technology of producing algae b iodiesel by industrial equipm ents w ill m ake a
significant breakthrough in several years to com e, and the algae b iodiesel industryw ill becom e a rising alternative energy
industry. The algae b iodiesel industrial research in China is alm ost at the same level as abroad. For the independent
innovation, its a new field that China should catch the opportun ity. In the paper, an industrial developm ent trend is
proposed to solve the four mi portant issues in algae b iodiesel production wh ich are: the design of photob ioreactor, the
culture and control system of algae, the corollary equ ipm ent manufacture and the cost of production.
