A bstract: A novel and lowcostm et od to rem ove m ercury from w astew ater is obtained. Based on t e Mannic Reaction, a c elating flocculant grafted
w it diet y lene triam ine as been prepared from polyacry lam ide ( PAM ), form alde yde and diet ylene triam ine ( DETA ). U se of t e prepared flocculant
to rem ove m ercury from w astew ater w as studied. T e optmi al conditions for synt esizing t e flocculant and using it to rem ove m ercury w ere determ ined.
