Abstract Includ ing the effect of pace harmon ic in the inter ior reg ion of the wavegu ide, w hile a Z independent TM
and TE m ode are a um ed pre en t in the groove, attenuation coeffic ient ha been deriv ed for them etallic lo of the dom i
nant m ode in a corrugated c ircu lar groove waveguide. Under the cond ition of fir torder approx mi ation, the var iation of atten
uation coeffic ient w ith working frequency and other num er ical re u lt are g iven. T he re u lt how that the attenuation can be
reduced effectively by an increa e of the groovew idth, and moreover, attenuation coeffic ientm ay becom e very low w ith a new
larger inter ior radiu w hen the ratio
