Abstract :According to rich coal bed methane resources in China and high difficult development actual conditions ，the state enhanced the
attention degree and the investment dynamic to the technology and innovation of the coal bed methane development． A series of break-
through progress was made． The paper summarized the new progresses on the basic theory ，key technology ，heavy equipment ，transportation
and utilization ，development mode and others in the coal bed methane development and utilization in coal mining
