Based on a series of simultaneous electromagnetic field equations contented with the boundary conditions, the characteristic equation of the circulargrooveguideloadedwith dielectricis derived. Afterchanging some conditions, thecharacteristic equation is degenerated into characteristicequation of circular grooveguide and circular guide, respectively. Based on thecharacteristicequationthe curve of severalmodes are calcu lated. From these curves, the changes of cutoff frequency of modes after loadedwith different dielectrics can befound. For instance, while permittivity increases the cutoff frequency of modes tend to decrease. All theresults establish sometheorybase forfurther studying the applications of circulargrooveguide loaded with dielectric.
