工具 Unit 17 Laughter 挪威研究人员发现有幽默感的癌症患者可能活得更长久。与缺乏幽默感的患者相比,幽默感较强、笑声不断的癌症患者存活率最多可提高70%。 A laugh a day may help keep death further away Laugh and the world laughs with you.Even better, you might live longer,a Norwegian researcher reported. Adults who had a sense of humor outlived those who didn’t find life funny, and the survival edge was particularly large for people with cancer, said Sven Svebak from the medical school of the medical school of the Norwegian University of Science and Technology. He released his study of about 54,000 Norwegians. At the start of the study, patients filled out questionnaires (问卷) on how easily they found humor in real-life situations and how important humor was. The greater role humor played in their lives, the greater their chances of surviving were,Svebak said.Adults who scored in the top one-quarter for humor appreciation were 35% more likely to be alive than those in the bottom quarter,he said.He took into account health, age, sex, lifestyle and other things that could affect survival. In a group of 2,015 people who had cancer,a great sense of humor cut someone’s chances of death by about 70% compared with adults with a poor sense of humor,Svebak said.He checked to see whether the least humorous people also had the worst prognoses (预断),which would explain their earlier deaths. But that wasn’t the case,he said. Past research showed that humor helped people deal with stress and keep a healthy immune (免疫) system during stressful times,Svebak said.He believed that could improve survival. “Hummor_works_like_a_shock_absorber_(减震器)_in_a_car,”he_said.“You_would_like_a_good_shock_absorber_when_you_go_over_bumps_(凸块),and_cancer_is_a_big_bump_in_life.” Translate the underlined paragraph into Chinese. ___________________________________________________ ___________________________________________________ 答案: 他说:“幽默就像汽车内的减震器。当你越过凸块时,你想拥有好的减震器,而癌症就是人生中的凸块。” 工具 Unit 17 Laughter
