This new method allows n o s r engineers to evaluate, before an earthquake, how safe it will be to occupy a building after the e p r earthquake. The method measures building performance in terms of the post-earthquake o F E. occupancy classifications Green Tag, Yellow Tag, and Red Tag, defining these C S performance levels quantitatively, based on the structures remaining capacity to withstand A t h aftershocks. The authors have used this methodology to perform seismic assessments for several g i r y buildings in the Pacific Gas Electric Company (PGE) utility network, including electrical p o C 4. substations and other facilities in Oakland, Berkeley, San Francisco, and Vacaville.
