Module 2 My New Teachers Period 1 Teaching Aims and Demands Enabling the students to 1. learn as more adjectives as possible to describe teachers 2. try to get the main idea of the reading material on page12 3. to retell the text. Teaching steps: I. Revision 1. Brainstorming Ask the students to try to think of as many adjectives used to describe a person as possible. 2. Ask the Ss to use the adjectives to describe their fathers and mothers. And then describe their favorite teachers. II. Lead in. 1. Have a discussion about their own favourite teacher’s standard and tick the statements in Activity 3. 2. Listen to Alex, an English student, and tick the sentences that he agrees with. 3. What do you think of Alex’s about the statements? Compare yours with Alex’s and tell the reason why. 4. Ask the following questions. 1.) Who was your favorite teacher in Junior High? 2.) What adjectives will you use to describe your favorite teacher in Junior High? 5. Look at the pictures. What are your first impressions of the three teachers? (Ask students to write down the adjectives and check with their partners) IV. Reading for the first time 1.Read the text fast and check your prediction.
