Abstr act : Based on the ADMS2Urban model and linear programming, a retro2pattern of concentration2 emission was constructed to analyze
atmospheric environmental capacity(EC). In the case studyofTongzhou District, BeijingMunicipality, considering the natural eco2system and
themeteorological characteristic, the environmental capacity of SO calculated with the method is 41 311 tPa, subject to the regional

atmospheric environmental qualitytarget. The ECof SO is not uniformspatia2l distribution, most ofwhich is outside oftheurban built2up area.

Though EC of SO isfar morethanthe SO emission, the airpollution intheurban built2up areais severebecausemost SO emissionhappened
