On-Line Soft-Measuring Method of Plate Thickness

Abstract: Based on the plate rolling technology , a proper soft measuring method w as established. T his new met hod
brings the rolls elastic deformation into mill spring model and improves the gauge predict ion precision. T hen t he
self-learn algorithm of deviat ion of gap zero is adopt ed for overcome the influence of the small variation caused by
roll w ear, roll expansion and mechanical clearance on gauge calculation. The influence of data treatment met hod
for measured force and gap and plat e crow n on gauge calculation is also analyzed. Good efficiency and high preci-
sion was obtained in on-line application on Shougang Plate Plant.
