The dynamic evaluation of ecological security
during the process of rapid urbanization in Henan province

Abstract: Based on the ecological footprint theory ,This article constructs a evaluation model for
regional ecological security assessment, and quantitatively evaluated the dynamic changes of ecological foot
and ecological security in Henan province during the 1995 ~ 2008. The results show that the Per capita

ecological Footprint in Henan province has been increasing from 1.2588hm in 1995 to 2.6132hm in 2008, the
main reason is that the fossil-energy footprint increase 3-fold during the same time. The ecological deficit of

per person has been increasing rapidly from 2000, realizing the growth from 1.1616 hm to 2.1137 hm , and
lead the ecological security index decrease quickly from - 1.6750 to -2.3735, which shows that the
social-economic development in Henan province is unsusta
