However, what the speaker states is very different what is demonstrated in the reading. 　　First, in the reading, it is said that the TLP is suspicious because of the random errors of the machine. In contrast, the professor refutes this view by pointing out that if random errors do exist, the report should indicate the randomness of the light reflection; nevertheless, the errors only occur in two fixed places rather than in everywhere. This directly contradicts what the reading asserts. 　　Second, the author considers that the TLP is useless due to the meteors’ striking. On the contrary, the lecturer maintains that the striking cannot be the negative factor. That is, the meteors striking only lasts one second, but the TLP can last for nearly twenty minutes. So there will be enough time to observe the event. This is another part where the listening contravenes the reading. 　　Third, in the listening, the professor says that although the rock may reflect the light, but the reflected light is so weak that it fails to interfere with the brilliant light of the moon itself.
