Abs tract The expermi ental results showed that the peroxidase activity increased firstly and cam e to the
maxmi um on the second day and then declined steadily in the detachedwheat leaves in darkness. The perox-i
dase activity of the detached leaves decreased after treated by NaC.l The analysis on the peroxidase isozyme
patterns showed that oneweak band ( POD2) appeared after treated by NaCl for one day, but then disap-
peared; the intensity of POD1 band decreased and it disappeared at lastw ith the prolonging of tmi e. The
changes of bandswere in accordw ith the peroxidase activity. NaC l treatment also decreased the protein con-
tent in the detached wheat leaves.
