Teaching objectives
【Language Skills and Language Knowledge】
To help the students learn more English proverbs than before“ Where there’s life, there’s hope .” and “A word is enough to the wise.”
To help the students understand more fully some proverbs they have learned, such as “Time will tell.” by explaining some proverbs in English.
To develop their memory, imagination and creativity.
【Attitudes toward learning】
ncourage students’ active participation in learning, by using the whole class work, individual work , pair work, etc.
To help students gain a sense of achievement and self-confidence, by using self-assessment .
To help the students actively cooperate with others, by using group work.
To develop the students’ creative thinking ability, by using creative thinking activities, such as
“using the proverbs to tell us the meaning behind the pictures”.
To help the students take a positive attitude towards with their life, by learning proverbs such
as “Where there is life, there is hope.”
【Learning strategies】
Help ents use communicative strategies such as communicating by using proverbs.
Help the students learn words and expressions through proverbs.
Actively involve the students in learning by cooperating with their partners or group members.
【Cultural Awareness】
Raise students’ cultural awareness, and take in something useful in proverbs, such as understanding “Do to others as you would have them do to you.”
