The result s showed t hat t he wat er level in t he p addy field under aerobic irrigation was lower t han t hat under t he t ra ditional irrigation t hroughout t he whole growing sea son , r esulting in t he increa ses of oxidationr eduction pot ential and number of early tiller s , and t he p roductive p anicles and grain yield were increa sed by 7 . 1 % to 18 . 3 % and 8 . 6 % to 10 . 8 % over t he t raditional irrigation , resp ectively .
