1Abstract 2 Objective To investigate the diagnostic value of cell block and fine needle aspiration
cytology to the salivary tumor. Methods A total of 123 samples from salivary tumor with matched
histological diagnosis were studied. All were diagnosed with fine needle aspiration cytology and cell
block slice. The diagnostic accuracy of cell block combined with fine needle aspiration cytology was
analyzed retrospectively and compared with fine needle aspiration cytology in the salivary tumor.
Results T he diagnostic accuracy was 95. 1% of the combination method, and 91. 0% of fine neddle
aspiration cytology. T he histological typing accuracy was 92.7% of the combination method, and 65.
0% of the fine needle aspiration cytology. There was a statistic difference(P 0. 05) . For malignant
tumors, the histological typing accuracy of the combination method was 91. 8%, and was 56.7% of
fine neddle aspiration cytology ( P 0. 05) . Conclusion T he diagnostic accuracies of fine needle
