Unit 3 Communication workshop
教材分析:
本课是第三单元celebrations的语言输出课,主要是围绕着本单元话题,运用相关词汇和结构进行口头表达和写作的练习。口头表达练习如何恰当表达惊讶及让对方重复。写作是写一篇记叙文,描述一个聚会或活动。本课计划按两课时进行。第一课时重点是口语表达,第二课时重点是写作。书上P91有writing help 可供参考。
教学内容:
话题:聚会
口语:1. 自我介绍和询问对方信息。表达惊讶和让对方重复的功能句。
2. 在聚会中如何让谈话继续。
写作:描写一个聚会或活动。
词汇:与聚会有关的词汇。
Analysis of students
The students are not the top in the grade. Most of them are of average. But they are active and interested in English learning, or rather, have strong motivation in improving their English..
The theme of this unit is “Celebrations”. They have read, listened to and even talked much about something to be celebrated. They are quite prepared both in the topic and vocabulary. They have also reviewed the use of Past Simple, especially the past forms of some irregular verbs.
In the previous unit, students have learned how to write a story according to the timeline of the main events. The teacher has showed them how to correct a piece of writing over the OHP.
Analysis of teaching material
(1) This is the 11th period in this unit. (usually 12 periods for each unit). Before this, there are three lessons for reading on the topic, three lessons for listening, four lessons with speaking practice, one lesson with grammar exercises on The Passive . In the previous unit, Past Simple and Present Perfect have been reviewed, and the writing strategy of planning the layout of a story has been handled as well.
(2) The teaching material is suitable for the level of my students. Not much has been changed except for adding the vocabulary preparation and the game of arranging the order of the writing example in the text book. After this period, students are supposed to have some idea of how to build their vocabulary by sorting and using them. They may be more clear about the writing process, especially the importance of making correction after the first draft.
