Abstract Objective T o study the effe ts of body surfa e loss of zin on t he determ ination of
dietary supply of zin . ethodsBody surfa e loss of zin w as det ermined in 24 pres hool hildren

respe tively , and 0. 29 and 0. 25 mg daily w ith dietary zin intake of 7. 20 and 6. 73 mg, respe tively.

The body surf a e loss of zin a ounted for five per ent of the total Conclusion Considering the
loss of zin from body surfa e , it is suggest ed that dietary zin supply be in reased by 21 per ent.
When hildren is in good status of zin nutrition, body surfa e loss of zin orrelat es proportionally
w ith their dietary zin intake.
