In normal entral nervous tissue, the ratio of olloid ell to neuron is 10: 1~ 50: 1, but astro ytes are the most mi portant large olloid ells in entral nervous system. A t the same tmi e they have ompli ated stru tures and fun tions. Themutual fun tion of neuron- astro yte is very mi portant in entral nervous system as nervous system un it. It takes part in grow th pro ess from embryo development to aging of the whole entral nervous system and parti ipates the whole pro ess of neuron development. A smore and more resear h works about d iseasem e han ism and therapy in entral nervous system w ere arried out, w e realized that astro ytes are versatile su h as nervous system developmen,t synapse transm ission, nervous tissue repair and regeneration, nervous mi mun ity and disease pro ess of many nervous system d iseases.
