Dep artment of P hysics, S ichuan University , Cheng u 610064, China) Abstract: T he accuracy of retrieving the aerosol size-distribution by using the Genetic Al- gorithm and linear regression is studied through computer simulations. It is found that the error comes from the mult-i collinearity among the vectors of M ie matrix could be reduced to some extent w hen using Genetic Algorithm, and the results of Genetic Algorithm are better than those of the linear regression.
