M ethods Fortyseven neonatesw ith severe congenital heart diseasew ere en rolled into the N ICU during Jan 2000 to Dec 2003. The therapeutic effect and side effects of prostagland in E infusion w ere analyzed in different types of congen ital heart diseases, d ifferent tmi e intervals of PGE infusion prior to opera tion, and effects of retain ing patent ductus arteriosus. R esu lts The effective rates of PGE in 3 groups w ere 82. 6 % ( 9/23) in right ventricular outflow tract obstruction group, 50. 00% ( 3/6) in left heart lesion group, and 72. 22% ( 3/ 8) in transposition of great arteries (TGA) group.
