Abstract: Based on hydrometric and precipit at ion dat a, a study has b een made on the temp eral variat ion in the
drainage ar ea between H ekouzhen and Longm en in the Yellow River basin. It has been found that the tr end
of sedim ent yield changed from incr easing in the p eriod 1986- 1996 t o decreasing in the period 1997- 2007.
