Abstract: Prosperousfamilies in the Song Dynasty carries the custom that a daughter goes to her husband∀ s household
with a piece of landto ensure her economicposition in her husband∀ s houshold.Generally speaking, the Song Dynasty
wealthy family women∀ s economic status were maintained in a high level,though NeoConfucianist thought tried to
changethe situation, inspite the fact that inthe Southern Song Dynasty NeoConfucianism rose gradually to stand for
the country ideology.Some people createda clamor for the Southern Song Dynasty government to eliminate or to limit
the custom of lang going with marriage, but the majority stillfavoredthe judicial practice inthe protection of the wife
right to her property of realestate.
