Ask them the following questions: T: Hello, everybody! Welcome back to school! Did you have a good time during your winter holidays? Ss: Yes. Of course! T: When did you feel most happy and excited? Ss: At the Spring Festival. T: Who can tell us why? Volunteers! S1: Because it’s the most important festival in our country. S2: Because I got much lucky money from my parents, grandparents and my relatives. S3: Because I needn’t study at festivals and there was lots of delicious food to eat. How great! S4: Because I met my cousins and old friends who I hadn’t seen for a long time and we had a very good time together. T: Excellent work! I am glad to hear that. Then discuss in pairs what other Chinese festivals you know and choose three festivals to talk about.
