Methods Atotalof22patientsunderwenthemi-semilaminectomyforthemicrosurgicalremovalof spinalschwannomasduringaperiodof2009and2011inAffiliatedHospitalofNantongUniversity.Weret rospectivelyanalyzedtheclinicaloutcomesofthesepatients. Results Ofthem,5caseswerediagnosedwithcervicalschwannomas,9withthoracicschwannomas, and8withlumbarschwannomas.Allthetumorsincludingtwodumbbellschwannomasweretotallyremoved withoutmajorcomplications.Postoperatively,allpatientswerefollowedupfrom6to36months.Thesymp tomsandsignswereobviouslyimproved,andnotumorrecurrenceorspinaldeformityoccurred.
