U sing the classical transfer path analysis (TPA ), three signifi cant lmi itations are revealed bymeans of theoretical analysis and case study. ( 1) Because of the correla tion among the input transfer paths caused by the structuremodal behavior, the cross coupling of the in put paths may happen; ( 2) The lmi itation of the actualoperational data cond itionsmay lead tom isevalu ation for the transm issibility functions; ( 3) The synthesized contributions of this method can not identify the potential error ofm issing transfer path in analysis. The three lmi itationsw illmake the analysis failure and lead to w rong resu lts.
