Abstract Based on the logical and theoretical analysis and empirical study of Student association and the cultivation of students’ personality, the paper expounds the inevitability and practicality of the function of student association to the cultivation of students’ personality, and lays the theoretical and realistic foundation of the emphasis of student association. Meanwhile, the paper analyzes the methods and mechanism of the function of student association to the cultivation of students’ personality from the point of organization of association, association activities, and association culture. It is significant in fostering quality education and the meaningfulness of students association. This paper consists of three parts. The first part is the chapter one; it analyzes the research significance, value and methods of the function of student association to the cultivation of students’ personality. It illustrates the realistic and theoretical significance of the research in soling the personality crisis and prompting quality education with the background of personality crisis and education limitations. Part two is from chapter two to chapter four. It deals with the inevitability and practicality of the function of student association to the cultivation of students’ personality. The paper analyzes the features of association as value, university, autonomy, cooperation and diversity on the basis of the definition of “personality” and the cultivation of students’ personality. It suggests that there is the logical relevance between student association and the cultivation of students’ personality, therefore, it demonstrates the inevitability of the function of student association to the cultivation of students’ personality.
