For one thing, in social communication, not only can generation, age, and status affect the usage of address forms, but also history, national features, social structure and marriage system may constrain the utilization of address forms. For another, whether social conversation goes smoothly or not depends on the use of the address forms, for address forms can be applied to establish, maintain, shorten, estrange or end interpersonal relationships. Address forms are like a mirror. They can reflect different identities, occupations and roles of addressers and addressees. Thereby, doing some researches about address forms is of great social significance. However, compared with the study of urban address forms, the study of rural address forms is neglected by scholars, especially in China.
