A Clinical Study of Treating Spleen and Stomach Damp-heat Syndrome of Acute Sinusitis with Jianpilishiqingdoufang Specialty：Otorhinolaryngology of TCM. Author ：Xue Lian Tutor：Professor Gu Zhen Abstract Objective:To observe the effect of Jianpilishiqingdoufang （JPLSQDF ）on Spleen and Stomach Damp-heat Syndrome of Acute Sinusitis and acute exacerbation of chronic sinusitis and explore the mechanism of it. Methods: 60 patients with Treating Spleen and Stomach Damp-heat Syndrome Sinusitis were divided into two groups at random:the treatment group and the control group. The treatment group was given JPLSQDF, and the control group was given Huodanwan (HDW).10 days were set as a course of treatment. Symptom assessment were completed through at the main symptom, sub-symptom and physiological signs of the patients, such as stuffy nose, nasal secretions,hyperemia and swelling of nasal mucosa,dizziness nausea or pain, dysosmia.The clinical effects of each group were observed during the course . Results: The effect on syndrome of TCM are better than that of the control group (P ＜0.01 or P ＜0.05). JPLSQDF indicates significantly better than HDW in improvement on the symptoms such as hyperemia and swelling of nasal turbinate,runny yellow turbid volume and dizziness nausea or pain (P ＜ 0.01 or P ＜0.05). Adverse reactions happened in neither of the two groups during the treatment .Conclusions:JPLSQDF appears to have the significant effect in the treatment of Sinusitis. The mechanism of this therapy may be relation to the modulation of immunity, antibacterial action, anti-virus action, anti-inflammatory action and promoting blood microcirculation.
